My husband, Geoff Minter, and I appointed John Gavagna from Residential Properties in Mona Vale as our agent to sell our home of 40 years in Park Avenue, Avalon. I was very impressed and personally touched at his sensitivity in our very difficult decision to sell our beloved home.  He listened to our stories of how we’d brought up 4 daughters in it and all the processes we’d gone through in renovations and beautifying it.  He was warm and sympathetic when I cried and talked about his family going through the same thing after so many years.  He gave some very good advice based on being a natural psychologist. He also showed his expertise and knowledge in selling such a home and proved to be the right person.  He remained sensitive through the whole process recognising my emotions and our children’s difficulties at giving up their childhood home. John is a lawyer and has all the knowledge required and was able to recommend all the appropriate people to provide compliance certificates, etc.  He was always available and would answer phone calls and emails without us having to chase him up.  This is so important for people learning all the new processes of a house sale.  He certainly made the whole process smoother than I was expecting. Ours was an older-style home that needed obvious repairs and modernising but he was able to get us the price we needed even through a cooling market. I would highly recommend John to sell a home.

John Gavagna has been managing my investment property for many, many years. He is meticulous in his investigation and selection of tenants, takes full responsibility for maintenance and repairs, and employs the best people to carry out any work. His regular inspection reports with supporting photos give me total confidence that my property is well looked after and in good order. Rent payment always arrives on time. I have known John for 10 years having a business in the same building. We had no hesitation in commissioning John as the agent for selling our house in Avalon Beach.  It was at the peak of the property boom when we were being chased by agents that we asked John for a proposal. He detailed his marketing strategy on how we’d get a high, but realistic price which impressed us.
